The Long Term Lifequest

Healthy State of Mind

In this Lifequest, I reflect on mental health, social connection, and finding balance as an introvert. By meeting new people while also embracing time alone, I’ve learned how important small goals and daily victories are. Mental health forms the foundation of my lifestyle and influences every aspect of my life. The more content I am with myself, the stronger and happier I feel.

In the last weeks of November, I was finally able to start my new job. The training lasts about three weeks, during which I got to know several people. Each with their own personality, their own story, and their own perspective on the world. Meeting new people offers a different way of looking at the world, and I’ve noticed how much you can learn from others. Ultimately, humans—unlike animals—are social beings. Some are more introverted, while others are more extroverted. Being social is a must for mental health in today’s society. Unfortunately, not everyone in this world is equally fortunate when it comes to social experiences. That’s why it’s important not to judge someone based on what is normal for one person but not for another.

I’m an introvert who enjoys meeting new people and gaining new experiences, but I also truly enjoy discovering new things on my own. Lately, I’ve been focusing on finding a certain balance and control over my mental state. As I mentioned before, we are social beings, and social interaction acts as a positive stimulus for our mental health. At the same time, one of my current goals is to not be dependent on social interaction to maintain my mental well-being. This doesn’t mean that I want to be alone or that I don’t want to have or maintain social connections. It’s more about developing a strong mind that I can use to achieve my personal goals. This is also reflected in my first blog.

In addition, there was a period in which I wanted to explore the causes of issues such as dementia and other mental health problems. In many of these cases, loneliness—or the feeling of loneliness—turned out to be an important factor in poor mental health. This made me realize that mental health may be the most important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Your lifestyle influences almost every aspect of your life, whether it relates to your career or your private life.

At the moment, I’m trying to be content with being alone by setting small goals for myself. These small victories keep me active—daily wins, weekly and monthly goals, and even yearly achievements. In Lifequest 2, I already mentioned how important finances can be for mental health. Small goals play an important role there as well, varying depending on the timeframe. These are my goals, and I’m convinced that the more content you are with yourself, the happier you will feel.

Still, I’m curious—what do you think about this?

Agreeing that mental health is the most important quest in life and I am proud to see that you are on this journey! Truly love to see all of our friends being on their own pace in this quest and that we are already aware of this, everyone on their oen level.
You inspired me with this blog to make it an even more important quest for myself than it already was🙏🏽. Loved reading this and opening up a conversation with yourself and others.
